Capoeira (Kids and Family)

MONDAYS: 4:30 to 5:30 pm

Capoeira is an exciting combination of martial arts, music, dance and gymnastics. Developed by African slaves in Brazil centuries ago, today Capoeira is practised by adults and children all over the world.

Musical instruments include the berimbau (a bowed, percussion instrument that directs the speed of the Capoeira “game”); the pandeiro, similar to a tambourine; the cow bell, or Agogo; and the conga-like drum, the atabaque.

Kids as young as two can enjoy learning and training with their parents in a safe, supportive environment. The emphasis is to encourage a connection between family members. Learning together, parents and their kids can practice what they learn and have fun at home.
